COVID Vaccinations Resources

Given the increase in questions and concerns related to the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19) tests and vaccine availability, UCR's Retirement Center and UCR Retirees' and Emeriti Associations have compiled a list of links to media articles and websites on COVID-19 test and vaccines as a resource for members and retirees.

As always, to determine vaccine availability for 65+ older adults living in the community (California - Phase 1B Tier One), we recommend reaching out to your local health care provider, check websites of your local public health department, and pharmacy locations near you for real-time updates on vaccines and availability.

Vaccine Distribution

UCR is strictly adhering to the California Department of Public Health prioritization protocol to include individuals 65 and older in the Phase 1B Tier One to receive the vaccine. Active updates on California's vaccination plan can be viewed on the COVID19.CA.GOV webpage at: https://covid19.ca.gov/vaccines/

Additionally, UCR's vaccine updates were provided by Chancellor Wilcox on January 19, 2021 and is available for review at: https://insideucr.ucr.edu/announcements/2021/01/19/covid-19-vaccine-update

UCR Health

UCR Health is offering the COVID vaccine to individuals who qualify based on approved California Department of Public Health (CDPH) tiers such as healthcare workers and employees, students and patients over 65 years old. We are currently working with UCR's COVID-19 hotline to assess availability of vaccines for retirees and emeriti and UCR Health is reaching out to its patients. If you have received UCR Health's COVID Vaccination Appointment Survey via email on Friday, February 5, 2021, complete the survey to schedule an appointment. Retirees and emeriti who did not receive the COVID Vaccination Appointment Survey can contact the UCR Health Clinic at (844) 827-8000 and mention that they would like to become a member and receive the COVID-19 vaccines. There is no charge for vaccines.
