Walks, Talks & Tours: School of Medicine Education Building II
Retirees and emeriti are cordially invited to register for the Walks, Talks & Tours Activity: Tour of UCR’s School of Medicine Education Building II on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. The UCR School of Medicine welcomed its first class of students in fall of 2013, but the dream of teaching physicians at the University of California, Riverside dates back to 1971, when then - UCR Chancellor Iven Hinderaker presented the idea of building a medical education program in Inland Southern California.
The facilities to support the School of Medicine include the School of Medicine Research Building, which opened in March 2011 and features faculty offices and lab space; the School of Medicine Education Building, which opened in Spring 2013, in the newly renovated Stat/Comp Building; and The School of Medicine Education Building II, which opened in Fall 2023. Please join us to tour the last School of Medicine Education Building.
Space is limited to 40, and you must be signed up by April 29 at Noon. Parking is available in lots 11, 10 or 13. Make sure to wear good walking shoes and a hat, bring water and wear clothing appropriate for the weather.
