A Celebration of Women in Medicine & Science

Join us as we honor the outstanding contributions, achievements, and leadership of women in the fields of medicine and science.

This special event will showcase inspiring stories, foster meaningful connections, and celebrate the remarkable impact of women in our academic and healthcare communities.

All are welcome — faculty, staff, and students!

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Deborah Prothrow-Stith

Dr. Prothrow-Stith is the  Dean of the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science College of Medicine and founding dean of its new MD degree program—the 157th in the U.S. and only the 4th at a historically Black university.

A trailblazer in public health and medical education, Dr. Prothrow-Stith has led transformative initiatives at CDU, including launching its new medical school, restarting residency programs in South LA, and tripling the size of the COM faculty. A Spelman and Harvard graduate, she’s a member of the National Academy of Medicine and a pioneer in defining youth violence as a public health issue.
